RWM Billy Houston's time in the craft.

"I was proposed for membership of Lodge Royal Arch West Kilbride No. 314 by my late father and seconded by my late grandfather in January 1974. I was Initiated into the Lodge on 14th May 1974, passed as a Fellow of the Craft on the 8th of October 1974 and Raised as a Master Mason on the 14th January 1975 and then advanced as a Mark Master Mason on the 28th of May 1976.

I was Lodge Secretary for many years thereafter and was Secretary when the Lodge celebrated its 150th anniversary in the year 1975. I drifted away from the Lodge in the early 1980’s but returned in 1997 where I started to progress through the offices until I became R.W.M. on the 6th December 2008.

The day of my Installation is one that I will never forget and made the journey to the Chair well worthwhile. I look forward to my next year in office as R.W.M. and hope I can emulate all the good work of those who have gone before me."
